Born in 1989 in south of France, Dorran regularly plays as guest principal cellist with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, NDR Radiophilharmonie, Les Siècles, Staatsoper Hannover, Aalborg Symfoniorkester and Trondheim Symfoniorkester. He has toured with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Kammerorchester Basel, Staatskapelle Dresden, SWR Symphonieorchester, Orchestre Romantique et Revolutionnaire, Karajan Academy of the Berliner Philharmoniker and Orchestre National du Capitole Toulouse.
Dorran has collaborated with conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Pierre Boulez, Bernard Haitink, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Herbert Blomstedt, Riccardo Chailly, François-Xavier Roth, Philippe Jordan, Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Daniele Gatti, Antonio Pappano amongst many others. He has also played as leader in prestigious venues such as the Musikverein Wien, BBC Proms Royal Albert Hall, Teatro Scala Milano, KKL Luzern, Suntory Hall Tokyo, Teatro Colon Buenos Aires, Walt Disney Hall Los Angeles, Philharmonie de Paris, National Center for the Performing Arts Beijing, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Concertgebouw Amsterdam and many more.
His love for the orchestra repertoire came when he was, for many years, solo-cellist of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester and the Lucerne Festival Orchestra Academy.

As principal cellist, Dorran has performed world premiere of concertos and worked closely with eminent composers like Pierre Boulez, Wolfgang Rihm, Bruno Mantovani and his childhood friend, Benjamin Attahir.

After studying with Annie Cochet, Ophélie Gaillard and Philippe Muller in France with first prizes, Dorran (*1989) joins in 2009 Jean-Guihen Queyras’s class in Stuttgart and follows him in 2011 in Freiburg-im- Breisgau.
Dorran participated in worldwide masterclasses given by Frans Helmerson, Anner Bylsma, Miklós Perényi, Clemens Hagen, Gary Hoffman, Jérôme Pernoo, David Watkin, and worked closely with former soloists of the Berliner Philharmoniker such as Wolfgang Boettcher, Wolfram Christ, Rainer Kussmaul and the Melos, Artemis and Hagen Quartett.

Laureate of the Landesammlung Baden-Württemberg since 2011 with a loan of a G. Grancino « Ex-Piatti » from the XVIIe made in Milano, Dorran was also invited to festivals such as Verbier and Zermatt Festival, Lucerne Festival, Academy Villecroze, Piatigorsky Los Angeles and performed with partners Guy Braunstein, Renaud Capuçon, Augustin Dumay, Kirill Gerstein, Andreas Staier and Jean-Guihen Queyras.

In 2019, Dorran was invited to teach at the NTNU university of Music in Trondheim.

Invited by Claudio Abbado in 2012, Dorran plays in his beloved Orchestra Mozart based in Bologna. He is currently guest principal cellist of the Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK), and enjoys football, vintage watches and discovering his new home country, Norway.
